Programming jobs are one of the most in-demand, with more than 750 new job postings for Software Developers going live in the UK every day. With the huge growth in the tech industry it’s no wonder that programmers are one of the most sought-after roles. Out of the hundreds of coding languages, JavaScript leads the demand with 33% more job postings than the second most popular, Java. 

 

For candidates searching for a programming job, the power is very much in the job-seekers hands. Companies are fighting for the highly skilled applicants by offering benefits and salary packages much above the norm. Hackajob figures suggest the starting salary for a software engineer role is 64% higher than the national average at £25k. The demand for programmers is unlikely to slow, with spending on software development expected to continue to grow at 12% year on year.
